Will the Dallas Cowboys Finally Bring a Playoff Win Home in 2009?

By Alexander Regrand

This was perhaps the most anticipated game of the NFL football season thus far. The first ever regular season game in the new Cowboys Stadium, a mega dome for America's football team, and by association, America's stadium.

Tony Romo was appointed the next great quarterback prematurely perhaps - that doesn't excuse the rest of the team under performing over the years.

The Cowboys have a good quarter back in Tony Romo - who is prone to having a three interception game from time to time. Romo can make plays and has shown signs of a top quarter in the league.

After a nice week one win for the Cowboys in Tampa Bay, many doubts were answered regarding the Cowboys' ability to shoulder the loss of Terrell Owens and play effective football. Tony Romo looked phenomenal at quarterback, and the team clicked as a unit.

The Cowboys defense will need to improve because even with QB Tony Romo, RB Marion Barber, RB Felix Jones, TE Jason Witten, WR Patrick Crayton, and WR Roy E. Williams - they may not be able to out score opponents every single Sunday.

The Cowboys play in the very difficult NFC East with the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles - playing these teams twice a year will show how worthy the Cowboys are to contend in the NFC.

While the Cowboys stadium is nice and quite the spectacle, a nice stadium won't help a team win games - the Cowboys must do that themselves.

As long as Tony Romo can keep it together, the Dallas Cowboys can compete with any team in the NFL. - 29967
