Buying a TV Like The Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB

By Wesley Teague

Settle down and I will tell you a tale of TV buying. This tale has to do with the successful buyer and the beautiful set that they bought. It is a fact that in times past the sets were extremely small and the prices for them were large. However, times have changed for the better. The selection of TVs that you can get is absolutely ridiculous and the manner in which you can buy them has changed too. The fact that you need a new TV set is not new, but the fact that the wife (or hubby) is letting you get one is very exciting.

When you are going to buy a TV you have to understand exactly what kind you want and where it is going to be used. There are TVs now days that are specifically made to withstand more steamy areas like the bathroom. You can get them for the kitchen, kid's rooms, and all of the vehicles that you own. There is no end to the variety. Then you have to make sure that the type of TV you want is the right brand because there may be someone in the house who wants to complain because you got a lesser brand than so and so.

The next thing to decide after where in the house you want it to go is style. You can buy flat screens that will go anywhere in the house now and the advantage to them is that they are lighter and have a smaller profile than they ever have before.

When you have decided where the thing is going to be placed in the house and you are ready to make a decision, then you need to decide between the different versions of the screen. For the big screen type TVs there are three basic types. There are the LCD, plasma, and projection versions that can be said to be said to be truly "big screen." The LCD TVs are the king of the thin screen set. They can be quite large, but because the screen is so thin they can also be mounted on a wall no matter how big. They are more expensive, but if you have the funds they are the way to go. Plasma TVs are also thin screen types and they are generally cheaper than LCD types, but they have some issues you will need to understand. The third type of big screen is the projection TV. When you are TV buying you may be severely tempted by the size but remember the space requirement for these monsters.

Whether the TV is HDTV ready is another concern that has come up recently, but it should not be an issue. All newer TVs such as the Toshiba Regza 37RV635DB should be capable.

When you have decided on the type of TV and you next need to know how you are going to purchase it. If you have been doing the shopping on line, as you should at first, then you can either have the set brought to your home or dropped off at a store to pick up. Use the store option. It will save you the cost of shipping and insurance.

When you are in the store, purchasing over the phone or online they will try and get you to buy an extended warranty; don't buy the extended warranty.

Have fun with the process, but don't be duped. Do your homework and it should be fun,. - 29967
