Curb and Party Down are Terrific Productions

By Ellen Riggs

There are so many great comedies to watch on TV, and so little time. From the network television successes like Two and a Half Men, The Office, and 30 Rock, to the cable television programs, there's a wealth of great TV out there every week.

The two TV shows that I'm going to tell you about are both some of the funniest on television. Surprisingly, many people still haven't seen the first one despite its popularity. As far as the second one goes, it's a new production that I believe will gain a following as people discover it.

The first show is an HBO comedy that airs every Sunday night. Curb Your Enthusiasm is written by Larry David, and it's now one of the most loved comedies on television.

You might not know this, but Larry David was the original creator of Seinfeld. Rather than being a writer this time, he acts as the show's star. The situations he finds himself in are very awkward and funny all at once.

Many people compare the show to Seinfeld, and there are those who swear that it's funnier. Whether you like it more than Seinfeld or not, there's no way you won't like it if you're a fan of the Seinfeld brand of comedy.

The next show that I'll recommend is a lesser known one, and it's Party Down on the Starz channel. This is a comedy that chronicles the lives of a catering company that consists of failed or struggling actors.

Each week, the characters on the show find themselves at a new event, and every half hour episode is full of laughs. From corporate retreats to college events and high school reunions, they're just about everywhere.

Watch and episode and there's a good chance you'll see some familiar faces, as the cast is a very experienced one. - 29967
